ConcoursStudios.com is a real place. It’s where my desire to create beautiful images converges with physical reality. It’s the home base of my playground.
The photographic process never feels like work. I often feel as though I’ve been fishing – as if I’ve lured the images to the lens of my camera and caught them with the activation of my shutter. Downloading is with great anticipation. What did I catch?
I’m a synthesis of artist, designer and photographer. I’ve had a long career as an exhibiting artist, graphic designer, and teacher. As a painter, I’ve exhibited nationally, and in 1976 my work was added to the permanent collection of the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
Early in my career, I learned traditional film photography primarily as a means of documentation. But soon after I bought my first digital camera, I was hooked on the potential of digital media, and I shifted my creative energy to photography.
That said, in some of my photographic work I have merged my enthusiasm for photography with my personal nostalgia for some subjects, such as old cars and old aircraft. But many subjects provide both opportunity and challenge. Hence, my portfolio includes a variety of subjects, interests, and venues as evidenced under Galleries.
I have worked with graphic designers, artists, architects, writers, engineers, mechanics, professors, pilots, executives, and electricians. I have photographed for collectors, car show organizers, special interest automobile clubs, race events, automobile publications, and commercial marketing firms.

I sell prints and limited usage rights of my work found on my site. I offer my photographic services to individuals and commercial clients on a contractual basis.
